Eligibility, Restrictions and Contracts

To be considered, applicants must:

  • be CDL A licensed.
  • have at least 6 months of driving experience.
  • be at least 24 years of age.
  • meet all DOT requirements and qualifications.

The following criteria must be met once approved:

  • Qualified individuals will work and operate trucks and trailers for a carrier in their industry.
  • They can change carriers if desired.
  • A 4-year contract is required.
  • Equipment must meet DOT standards and undergo quarterly inspections.
  • Proof of regular maintenance is necessary.
  • Vehicles must be maintained, insured, e-logged, and GPS tracked at the driver's expense.
  • All documents are monitored by the foundation.
  • Operational costs to be paid by the driver, with revenue generated as an owner-operator.

If all criteria are met, the truck and trailer become a gift after 4 years.

  • History of traffic accidents, violations and/or convictions for the last 3 years (including DUI or reckless driving conviction and license suspension)
